About Us

Havruta opened as a learning pod in Fall 2023 and currently serves students in Pre-K through early elementary.  Our program is located on an idyllic property in Austin, TX.

Havruta is committed to academic excellence, Torah Judaism, and Hebrew fluency.  Our pedagogy embraces classical education, individualized, mastery-based learning, and language immersion. We aim to equip students with a strong grasp of the foundational ideas, stories, and texts of Judaism and Western civilization, and we aspire to prepare our students to lead lives of purpose and civic leadership.

Our pre-K and Kindergarten program is full Hebrew immersion, and our elementary students continue to spend a large percentage of the day in Hebrew immersion classes.

Qualifications

  • Native speaker of Hebrew language
  • A minimum of 1 year experience with students at the pre-school age level
  • Comfortable in a startup environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills  
  • Strong classroom management abilities

Responsibilities

We are currently accepting applications for a preschool Teacher Assistant (Ages 3-6). The Teacher assistant provides support to the lead Hebrew teacher in the delivery of educational programs and activities. They will assist in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for students, always ensuring their safety and well-being. The assistant supports the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. The teacher assistant supports the students with classwork, assignments, and projects under the guidance of the lead teacher and works with students in small groups reinforcing the lessons facilitated by the lead teacher.

This position has the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Hebrew lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
  • Assist students with classroom tasks, assignments, and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students as needed.
  • Supervise students during class, recess, lunchtime, and other activities.
  • Help to maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with the Hebrew lead teacher and other staff members to address student needs and concerns.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as organizing materials and preparing classroom resources.  
  • Develop and maintain a culture where students approach learning with joy, initiative, and respect for their teachers and classmates.
  • Inspire students to discover wisdom, truth, and beauty in their surroundings.
  • Respect and uphold our core values and limited technology policy
